Stand Up for Off-leash Access at Crissy Field and in San Mateo County Parks

There are two events in the next few days that could impact where and how you can walk with your dog in the future -- one involving Crissy Field, the other San Mateo County parks. We really need dog people to show up and show your support for preserving existing off-leash access at Crissy Field and for legalizing existing off-leash access in San Mateo County parks.

1) Crissy Field -- TOMORROW

Sat, June 1, 201910 am to 2 pm

Crissy Field Center
(building at the eastern edge, near the parking lot, of Crissy Field)

This Open House will present information on proposed changes, renovations, and improvements to Crissy Field. Notes from an earlier meeting about these changes indicate people wanted more plant restoration, with little mention of preserving access for off-leash dog walking.

Please attend to let them know off-leash access is important to you and you don't want to see any reductions in that access.

2) San Mateo County Parks Dog Access Meeting -- MONDAY

Mon, June 3, 20192 pm - 4 pm

San Mateo Board of Supervisors Chamber

400 County Center, 1st Floor

Right now San Mateo is deciding the future of dog walking in San Mateo County Parks. If you want fair trail access (dog owners have 5%; equestrians, for example, have 90%), now is the time to speak up and join the movement.

Please attend and let them know you support not only dog walking access, but access for people walking dogs off-leash.

Or email a comment asking for fair access to trails for people walking dogs to: ParksandRecreation@smcgov.org

Please try to attend these events. We need to ensure the access we have is preserved at places like Crissy Field and that we have fair access in counties like San Mateo where there currently is very little.
