Fort Funston Foxtail cleanup May 7-8, 2021

Now that we’re beginning to emerge from our collective pandemic cocoon, SFDOG is holding its first community event in more than a year to weed pesky foxtails at Fort Funston. April showers bring May foxtails, and they can cause great harm to dogs along with $300 vet bills.

The Golden Gate National Recreation Area maintenance crew is going to use electric weed trimmers to cut down the foxtails in the area immediately north of the parking lot. They need our help raking and bagging the foxtails so our doggies don't get stuck. The GGNRA will provide biodegradable bags and rakes.

We'll be raking on two days. Please sign up or just show up. Bring gloves, and bring a friend and help get rid of the foxtails in this part of Fort Funston!
